Project Life & Stampin Up

What I love most about scrapbooking is all the possibilities. From some of my favorite companies teaming up, to the amazing people I’ve met, there is always something new & exciting in this industry.

For a few years I have been doing an everyday album on top of traditional layouts and mini albums, called Project Life. Project Life is a pocket page system by Becky Higgins, but is very popular with a variety of companies from Echo Park, WeR Memories, to Simple Stories. Today was an extra special announcement, as the next pair up was announced–

I CANNOT tell you how unbelievably excited I am about this. & even more thrilled to see where it grows thanks to my fabulous friend Shara, I’m already ready for convention and our “focus group” lunches! What’s even MORE perfect about it is I have recently started using Stampin Up products mixed with Becky Higgins Project Life to bring my customers this style, so they’re going to be even more thrilled.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the products, which will be available in May, and will show up in the new Ocassions catalog in June:

Watch here on my blog for more about this fantastic new product line and how you can get your hands on it as soon as it’s available!

Hello Again.

The past few months I have taken some serious personal ME time. Lots of things going on in my life took importance over being on my blog, on social media, at my crafty home here on the Internet– but I of course didn’t stop being creative.

Project Life has become even more important to me, to capture the good & not so good moments of our lives. I’ve even gotten some of my girlfriends hooked, and proudly host a monthly crop night for anyone who’s interested in learning more, or sharing a common interest while getting a night with just the girls!

In my absence I’ve also been lucky enough to make great steps with my Stampin Up business– I am now part of a fabulous networking group that I cannot wait to become more involved with. After the life experiences I’ve been dealing with the past few months, I’m thrilled to be headed in the right direction with my creative outlet. Ending this month with a bang– the last few days of Sale-a-bration are here, don’t miss out on these great bundles, FREE product & exclusives! Make sure to swing by & check it out on my Stampin Up website! Order, see my upcoming classes & events, get ideas for your own projects!

I cannot wait to begin sharing here on my blog again, I’ve missed you crafty online friends!

Coffee && Friends.

Being crafty is my outlet. In the past year it has gotten me through some incredible rough times, and it is always there for me. It lets me enjoy life at it’s craziest, heart-breaking, gut-wrenching moments and often, there’s just a point where we all say just forget it and find something to lift our mood– scrapbooking is that thing for me.

I am SO excited for the Studio Calico life : scripted class, because it’s just stunning, and I LOVE cursive fonts. Maybe because I cannot write in cursive any better than my fourth grader? lol There are so many inspirational projects everywhere as a result of this trend, and most recently Celine’s page on her instagram has made me want to get messy & play!

In the midst of chaos, I got out a favorite picture, my Copper Mountain scrapbook kit & whipped up a page. Not only did it let me clear my mind and have fun, but I LOVE the final project—

The little details of this layout were the most fun, from playing with paint to the layers, stoked to add this to my wall for the new year of display!

Will you be joining me in the classroom? I am just SO excited to learn more in this class!

SU: Banner Blast

Today I received some fabulous happy mail from Stampin Up, and I want to share a little bit about mybusiness! With the new year already under way, I am thrilled to have so many great new products, catalogs & classes coming up. What I love most about paper-crafting is sharing it with others, and helping everyone I can CREATE everyday!

What I absolutely LOVE about Stampin Up products is how they co-ordinate– making it SO easy to use, for any project. Inspired by one of the cards in the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog, I made this sketch:

Right now we have a new Occasions Mini, FULL of fabulous new stamps, embossing folders, punches, and more. This is by far my favorite catalog yet, I love it all! My favorite range of products is the Kaleidoscope collection. The geometrical shapes are SO trendy right now, and I could not wait to use them! Here’s the card I made:

Mini Book Monday : The Intro

This new feature here on my blog is one near & dear to my paper crafting heart, MINI ALBUMS. I absolutely adore making small books of the bigger events in our life, especially if I’m on the go and want to share them with you. Many a time, I will share the start of the albums, and how I work on them while I’m away on trips, but a lot of the time I don’t share the completed album with you. & today, that’s all going to change.

I was inspired by my good friend, Kristin, who had a mini book MONTH on her blog, and some of my fellow crafty peeps saying my albums inspired THEM to do more on the go. I LOVE it, finding out you inspire others is a fabulous feeling, and I thought why stop at just a few friends? My readers might just love mini books as much as me. So, every other Monday from here on out, you will see a feature of a mini album, with a variety of subjects.

Topics to be included:

  • Making– the how to’s, the supply collecting, how I prepare to make an album
  • Creating– getting into the details, showing full pages of the mini books
  • Finishing– I myself struggle with this one the most. Get those last few pics printed and get it out on display!

I even went as far as to grab all those incomplete mini albums I have lying around and using one of the recently emptied out bins [thank you scrap stash sale!] to start a designated “To Finish” area. I’m challenging you all to join along in my attempt to get those done & out so they can be seen by family and friends! Check back every other Monday for these minis, tips and organization for getting them out of your camera and on display!

A new year always brings plenty of excitement, and add in the resolution to change & make this year better– I’m ready to use this energy to kick start catching up on projects and start a few new ones. Today I want to share 14 projects I’m putting on my list, to strive for a fun, creative new year :)

__ a 2013 year in review layout– I’m thinking an infographic feel, & if I love it I think I’m going to use a similar concept on my monthly Project Life dividers.

__ states traveled layout– an incredible map with trip details & moments of where I went last year, I got to travel quite a bit!

__ Week in the Life– in past years, I’ve done this in a smaller scale, typically adding it into my Project Life. This year, with Caleb being a bit older, I’m hoping to do a project of a week in HIS point of view. He loves to take his own pictures [and at his age is NOT so thrilled when I take them] so I think this will be a really fun way to get him involved and see our lives from a different angle!

__ birthday bucket list– this one may become a mini album, but we’ll see where it leads closer to!

__ sending more cards! I am ALL about getting happy mail, but seldom ever do I send or receive any, which ends now. This year, I WILL send out more cards & notes, so if I have your addy be warned LOL

__ France– I went with high school TEN years ago, and with my reunion this year & realizing I’ve still barely ever scrapped any of the photos, I’ve decided to get them in an album! I may end up using just some sort of pocketed page system & adding all the memorabilia, but it WILL happen!

__ resolutions page– this one has already been started, and I’m already in love!

__ Project Life 2014– While I know I already have goals set in mind for PL, it makes the list because I really do want to focus on finishing the entire year in a timely fashion AND share it!

__ Mini Book Mondays– this will be a blog feature here, and also hopefully an inspiration to myself to get all those minis finished that I wanted to do over the years, or while I’m on a trip and actually FINISH them. Sometimes I’m terrible at not completing them and I’m really hoping to focus on this!

__ One Little Word: SELF– the more I see what others do, the more inspired I am. Do I make a mini? I know I’m incorporating bits & pieces into my PL as well, & I want to do some pages as well…. so this one’ll be another that I have to think about more!

__ Share Stampin Up! — In the past, I was mostly just a demo who did it for the discount, who wanted to share a little bit when something was really awesome, but this year, I want to do MORE. The new catalogs are stunning and so trendy, and I am thrilled to be teaching classes from home and really hoping to show that here as well. These products are just too cute not to pass on! If you’re interested in checking out what’s new, head on over to my site,¬†and watch for a weekly SU post on Wednesdays!

__ pages for Caleb– I feel like there are soooo many incredible products for boys now, that I KNOW I need to catch up Caleb’s albums. I don’t want to be that mom that hits senior year and has to knock out 18 years of pages lol

__ December Daily– I am SO sad about choosing to forgo this project in 2013, & so this year I’m making it a priority. I WILL participate, it has always been one of my favorites and I really missed it this past holiday season!

__ Family History– My grandpa died early last year, and I SO wish we had recorded more of his memories before he passed. So I want to try and record those moments with other family members before it’s too late.

What projects do you plan on doing in 2014? Any crafty goals?

I’m BIG on resolutions– which I more use as goals for my year, things I hope to do & accomplish. Last year for 2013, I had thirteen and it went well, so this year I decided to continue it and came up with fourteen.

For my first project of the year, I want to share a peek at my resolutions. I LOVE how this page turned out, with leftover confetti from New Year’s Eve and the colors of my 2014 Project Life title page–

Do you scrap your resolution and use it to make yourself accountable? I feel like the more times I look at them, the more likely I am at staying on track with them! What are your goals for 2014?

This project is part of my crafty plans for the year, which I wanted to use to get a head start on one of my goals– CREATE everyday To read more about my upcoming projects I want to share, start on or complete this year check back on Friday!
